ART MEETS BEAUTY

ART MEETS BEAUTY

The love of beauty in all its forms of art, excellence enclosed in a harmonious hybrid of art and science, the aesthetic and artistic matrix that has always led the Shiseido cosmetics brand known to the Venice Movie Stars Photography Award to tell and reward the charm and art enclosed in the best shot of the reportage category.

So Shiseido returns to talk about art, this time in the picturesque setting of the Casa del Cinema in Rome, where the photograph undisputed star is the only one able to capture forever the charm of a time, a gesture, a face.

Among the 300 pictures taken by 60 photographers and selected by a jury composed of leading figures in the world of cinema and communications, chaired by photographer Roxanne Lowit, who captured and told the emotions, the history, the beauty and the art of 72nd edition of the Venice International Film Festival, Shiseido has awarded Gabriele Trevisan winner of photo reportage with the subject Ralph Fiennes.

Art and science is a combination that has always characterized our company," says Alberto Noè, President Shiseido Cosmetics Italy "Shiseido this year celebrates 100 years of work in the name of these two seemingly distant but inseparable in our cultural universe. It was our first president Shinzo Fukuhara, pharmacologist by training and artist by passion to develop these two worlds in Shiseido and symbolically unite under one roof.  Passionate about photography, which was a brilliant exponent, to him we owe the creation of the camellia symbol of the brand, designed by his own hand just after it is immortalized in a photo in 1916. And therefore with great pleasure that Shiseido has always been involved in activities of patronage, rewards today photography as art form that has been an integral part of its history".

The photos were collected in a book that has become must haves and some of them will be exposed to the photo exhibition Venice Movie Stars, inaugurated on December 17 and present to the House of Cinema, in the heart of Villa Borghese, until February.
