DUBAI DESIGN DISTRICT - D3

55% of top international brands already has a representative office in Dubai, contributing to the retail sector of the Emirate that is estimated to have generated about 65 billion dollars in 2013. It is estimated that retail sales in the UAE will reach by 2015 41 billion dollars.

With an eye already addressed at EXPO 2020 in Dubai, in Italy, at the Fuori Salone in Milan, there are others who looks forward to the talents among the
luxury brand of Made in Italy.
This is the Dubai Design District, better known as d3: a community for the promotion of local talent emerging, providing a large house creative and a real city in the city, for the established international brands of design, luxury and fashion.

 

The "d3" is the result of the last investment of TECOM Investments, a member of Dubai Holding: 11 buildings currently under construction and a complex of soil and spaces leased to give life to a creative community for talented designers and more. The District will host cutting edge design schools, residential areas, areas for offices and showrooms and will be enriched by many public spaces, street furniture exclusive and shaded walkways. The project includes a waterside esplanade with international design hotel, boutique and a hub in central location for events and outdoor activities.

 

"D3" is a free zone and, as such, our creative partners enjoy the benefits of a license that guarantees 100% of the property, a tax position tax-free, and the ability to fully repatriate profits and capital - said Maitha Al Suawaidi, Senior Business Developer Manager d3 - and we are also the only ones in the UAE to offer the opportunity to apply for a license on-shore for trade. This allows companies to export and import their products with exchanges of goods easier thanks to our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently updated with the customs authorities of Dubai".

 

Already in June 2015, the creative community of the "d3" will welcome a diverse group of local and regional designers. Offering personal and authentic stylistic perspectives, each talent will make a valuable contribution and unique in the face of the community of the "d3". As well as several industry giants like Chalhoub Group and MARKA, renowned designers of high fashion awarded international awards thanks to ready-made clothing for Hollywood as Rami Al Ali, Furne One Amato and Michael Cinco plan to settle in the District. The designers of this region will have a great opportunity to confront the most important luxury brands in the world and with signatures of prominent as Moncler, La Perla, Hugo Boss and others that are transferring the Head Quarters and regional activities in the District.
In terms of design and architecture, will join the project large and medium enterprises such as: RMJM, Cracknell, SSH and Dessert Group, along with designers and architects known as Viktor Udzenija Wanders and Wagner Architects. Finally, Lasvit, leading designers and manufacturer of lighting fixtures custom contemporary taste, in his showroom in Dubai will exhibit architectural installations and collections of glass lamps.

 

The "d3" will also host emerging entrepreneurs in the fields of design, fashion and the arts as a Private Collection, recognized brand and consolidated in Dubai that offers leather products exclusively designed and scents of the big names of Milan and London, and Bil Arabi Nadine Kanso, artist, photographer and jewelry designer who is inspired by Arabic calligraphy. Among the atelier of the district, there will be those of the accessories designer Natalie Trad, Rula Ghalayini, FMM Fatma Al Mulla and 55 Fifty seven.
