ISCHIA FILM FESTIVAL 2015
In order to promote the region through the audiovisual festival in collaboration with the Independent, the Ischia Film Festival for 2015 in Italy wanted to offer a showcase of works that having been set on the Baltic Sea. In collaboration with the major European festival that promotes the film in Northern Europe: the "Nordische Filmtage Lübeck", for the fourth consecutive year, it will be projected some of the most important films of 2014 (all unpublished in Italy) who narrated more identity culture of the countries of northern Europe.
Opening the focus, which in previous years has had as president the Swedish director Bille August Prize oscar, will be the Norwegian director Jan Vardøen with the 'Italian premiere of "Heart of Lightness". The film based on the play by Erik Ibsen tells of 8 British actors when traveling to the Arctic Circle to shoot a film on the work of Ibsen's "The Lady from the Sea". The director said he was particularly excited to have its Italian premiere just to Ischia where Ibsen stayed for several years. In focus other important works such as the Swedish film "Och Piccadilly Circus inter ligger i Kumla" the director Bengt Danneborn, the Finnish documentary "Joka muistaa vähän enempi" Minna Valjane, the Latvian documentary "Pelican in the desert" of Viesturs Kairišs, the Short Irish "Skerry" of Eythor Jòvinsson and the film set in the Faroe Islands "Ludo" the director Katrin Ottarsdóttir who will speak at the festival with producer Hugin Eide.
"Again - said the director of the Ischia Film Festival Michelangelo Messina - the festival of Ischia is at the heart of Europe as a platform for the promotion of cultural diversity of the European territory through the audiovisual" just as said President Martin Shultz that for the second year in a row wanted to give the festival of Ischia the High patronage of the European Parliament.
Focus Northern Europe will be chaired this year by director Linde Fröhlich Nordische Filmtage Lübeck and will take place as usual within the program of the Ischia Film Festival created by Associazione. Art Movie & Music with support from the Film Board of MiBACT and the patronage of the Campania Region.
